Congratulations to Kimberly Selden, freelance TV producer, media industry professional, partner of OBA and member of OBA’s strategic planning committee, as well as graduate of Media Arts from Long Island University! We at OBA couldn’t be more proud and encouraging of her vision, passion and continuing effort to make social change from media education–here and on the African continent.
Kimberly’s “Global Media Study Abroad Program” (GMSAP) looks to directly address the “digital divide…by empowering local communities with life saving information using alternative methods; like text message and movie screenings, training individuals on simple technology and sharing the stories from these communities with the world through social media, such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.” (Source: Kimberly’s Thesis Paper!) Check out the GMSAP Trailer Video! Looking forward to the partnership of GMSAP with OBA, but for now CONGRATULATIONS Kimberly! #TurnUP #graduates #Classof2014
