Watch CNN’s “We Were There: The March on Washington, An Oral History”
Ottoo Brand Artivism President Emilia A. Ottoo joined Impact Repertory Theatre last week in a memorable trip to Washington D.C. for The 50th Anniversary of the “March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.” (See pictures in the GALLERY and view video in the new MULTIMEDIA section!) While documenting the young people of Impact, meeting people of all colors, nations, and causes, and soaking in the Washington Monument, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and Washington Mall among others, activism, unity, and representation paid homage to the work of change agents who made advances in social change possible 50 years ago.
We salute all the organizers and change agents of the 1963 March including Bayard Rustin, A. Philip Randolph, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “The Big 6,” Harry Belafonte, and all the unnamed men and women of the struggle for human-civil rights.
